TDBG04-Start a Garden - Expanding Garden Space by Solarizing a Field Weeds - Two Doves Bees and Gardens
Start a new garden: Solarizing a field of Bermuda grass and weeds.
Over the past several months (in the Texas summer heat), we've ben trying different ways to kill grass and weeds (solarize vs. occultation), at least trying new methods of getting rid of the Bermuda grass, nut grass (Nutsedge), and other weeds where we want to put in our garden.
This is Part 3, where we start putting the raised garden beds in place and, filling them with soil. We discuss the progress of solarizing the weeds and creating a sterile seed bed (devoid of weeds and weed seeds).
If you are interested in learning how we took the challenge of creating a sterile bed to create a garden space - this is the third video in our series of building a garden in North Texas, from the ground up.
