TDBG06-Gardening in Summer Heat - Two Doves Bees and Gardens
Wow - Gardening in the summer heat this year is really taking a toll. Did summer come early and turn up on the blast furnace? Sure seems hotter this year than most others. Our North Texas garden is doing well, but it's a thirsty landscape.
Our Texas native plants seem to be taking the heat in stride (not too stressed - unlike John) and the hügelkultur mound is doing well. Many of the spring and early summer veggies are about done and it's time to start thinking about starting fall plants.
We want to grow (and replace) our rain water collection system to help offset the cost of watering the garden.
We hope you have a blessed remainder of your summer and are thinking about (and maybe praying for) a break in the heat.
