The Iris Echo

UK Filmmaker and host of the Sutherland Report political podcast from Scotland, Mark Sutherland brings two fiction short films to the 1A Film Fest with Between Lambs and Lions and the Iris Echo.  In The Iris Echo, nominated Best Cinematography & Best Art Direction - SIFF 2018, new Slavoski is a secretive and ruthless totalitarian state ruled under the iron fist. A low-ranking, invisible state 'Reader' of the working class grows increasingly frustrated with the hardship of her existence and begins to question the truthfulness of her broadcasts to the nation. The Iris Echo holds up a mirror to divisive politics, populist rule, misinformation and fear . . . something that is all too prevalent throughout our world today.
