When politically convenient, our governor and Secretary of State can expedite the swearing in of elected officials like Pat Curry

Curry said he is ready to hit the ground running.
“I’ll get sworn in rather quickly,” he said. “Election will be certified. I’ll get sworn in, and then we’ll get to work on doing the things in Austin to be able to get committee assignments and move up in the ranks.”
However, knowing that Aisha Davis’ resignation on the SBOE would result in her constituents electing her replacement, Abbott slid in his gubernatorial appointment on November 1, just 4 days prior to the election of Tiffany Clark.

Leslie Recine was appointed for the sole purpose of voting for the controversial Texas Bluebonnet/Open Education Resources which will undermine the authority of the 15-member SBOE.
Why didn’t Abbott expedite the swearing in of Tiffany Clark?
⚠️ SBOE will vote on the OER next week (November 18-22).
Call to Action VOTE AGAINST A STATE OWNED CURRICULUM by Alice Linahan
Texans need to show up and speak out AGAINST the Texas Education Agency becoming a CURRICULM vendor.
Their latest version is called Bluebonnet - Bluebonnet Learning is the brand name for Texas’ state-owned curriculum management system, it is NOT textbooks as some are falsely saying. It was designed to be an online digital learning management system using Open Education Learning (OER) technology. It only became printable into PDF form when we along with others raised our voices and exposed it.
Here are some questions to ask…
*Why are the TX Education Service Centers already printing and doing professional development on Bluebonnet when the State Board of Education (SBOE) has NOT yet approved it?
*Why were Texas students used as guinea pigs for the pilot of the TEA’s state developed and state-owned curriculum known as ‘Amplify’ without parental consent or SBOE approval?
*A pilot that was proven to expose Texas students to curriculum that was NOT age appropriate and contained pornography?
The SBOE will vote on the math and elementary reading instructional materials the week of Nov. 18th. The final vote is scheduled for Nov. 22.
Will they hold the TEA accountable?
We urge you to contact the SBOE and demand that they hold the TEA accountable and vote NO on the state-owned Bluebonnet curriculum. No state agency has the right to control the hearts, minds and souls of our children.
